Sarah trained at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre. Where she gained her teaching qualifications in I.S.T.D and RAD. After finishing her course she went straight into a contemporary dance company in London called ‘Dance for Everyone’ following this she performed in a worldwide tour of Bizet’s ‘Carmen’ with Jose Carreras which was filmed for Sky Television.
Sarah’s versatile career then found her playing Dorothy in the ‘Wizard of Oz’ and backing dancer on tour for the Pet Shop Boys, numerous summer shows and pantomimes. As well as working on TV for the BBC, ITV and Channel Four.
Sarah toured the country in many Theatres with David Essex for six years with International Artists performing in Robinson Crusoe. At the same time completing a degree in ‘Community Dance and choreography’ at Liverpool John Moore’s University and her Licentiate in Modern Theatre.
Sarah has gained over 30 years of teaching nationwide and worldwide, teaching the I.S.T.D and RAD syllabus to various ages, additionally choreographing shows using her knowledge and expertise in the performing arts genre.
Sarah has been a dance practitioner in education throughout North West Primary, Senior schools and within the community through a company called Arts2u. After gaining her PGCE Where she specialises in the educational side of dance. Sarah also specialises in the well being of the elder at Age UK and a company called Helping Hands teaching movement therapy to enhance their everyday needs, their confidence and self-esteem. Sarah has been a tutor at NLDA for over 15 years Were she concentrates on the educational units of the new DDE teaching qualification.
