Cathi Conroy-Jones started dancing at the tender age of 2 in Sydney Australia where her parents had recently emigrated.
Upon their return to England when Cathi was age 10, she attended a lovely dance school in Maghull lead by Mary Leonard.
She then trained as a Dance Teacher at The Hammond School in Chester. Upon graduation she started teaching full time dance students at Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre where she stayed for 10 years. For the next 10 years she taught at Northern Ballet School and then The Hammond School before eventually opening North Liverpool Dance Academy. (NLDA)
NLDA has been operating since 1993 and has progressed from operating in a Bootle Community Centre to its current premises in Walton where a full time College now runs as an ISTD Approved Dance Centre.
Cathi has trained countless students who are performing and teaching across the world. She is a Triple International Examiner for the ISTD, Committee Member for the ISTD National Faculty, Committee Member for ISTD Modern Events, an Adjudicator, Mentor and Director of the UK Dance Class Championships.
Cathi produces numerous Charity shows a year which include raising funds for Cancer Research, Motor Neurones and The Owen McVeigh Foundation, for which she is honoured to be Ambassador.
Cathi’s mission for the future is to continue to aid as many Dance students as possible to succeed and to help as many in need as possible through her Charity work.
