NLDA teacher training college was established in 2001 when the school moved to its current, spacious, premises.
Cathi Conroy-Jones had a vision to create a centre of excellence for the training of not just children, but students also. After having worked in many prestigious full-time colleges, her insight into the operations gave her the knowledge and experience to set up the teacher training course that now exists. North Liverpool Dance Academy has a fabulous reputation with learners coming from far and wide to gain their qualifications. This continues under the expert guidance of Jenna Bradshaw, Principal Teacher.
ISTD awarded the Approved Dance Centre status to North Liverpool Dance Academy in 2003. There are only a handful of centres in the North of England, offering all genres. North Liverpool Dance Academy are the only pure specialist ISTD teacher training establishments in the North West, we therefore concentrate on every unit with every pupil. All staff at NLDA are highly qualified and all actively undertake CPD.
The success rate at NLDA is very high, we pride ourselves in preparing the students to their own highest ability in all genres of dance. All students are encouraged to study and enter the ISTD DDE qualification in 4 dance genres.
Former pupils of NLDA are currently working as Dances Teachers and Principals all over the world. At present NLDA graduates are in Jersey, Norway, Australia, Dubai and Canada.
Classes for the students include Ballet, Tap, Modern and students have the option of joining free classes in the Junior Department.
NLDA was recognised in 2014 by IDS, who awarded them Gold in the Vocational Schools Category. Understandably, this was a massive achievement and something that we at North Liverpool Dance Academy are very proud of.
